Old painting from May 5th, 2011. I was looking through old pictures on my phone and I found this. I still like it, so I would like to share it with you guys.

Concept of a Alternian troll wiggler in the brooding caverns. Sunlight would probably kill them, and this poor snoozer is about to be culled by the good ol’ blistering sun rays.

At least Nepeta will get a new color for her paints

Huge update to an old submission. I got plenty of critique from friends, WiPnation, and /ic/, so I fixed it up according to what they said.

I’ve lost my enthusiasm about fixing this further, however; errors aplenty, don’t like it anymore, don’t see it going anywhere nice, and I want to move on to new projects. Forever a WIP!

Hubie! My favorite cartoon penguin. From “The Pebble and the Penguin.”

This was an old iScribble speedpaint that I desaturated, expanded, and turned into something of a value and background attempt, sort of like my WV picture. I’m not satisfied with it overall (especially that background; it’s hella weak), and again, I started it off completely wrong, so it will remain forever unfinished.

(I do like his face, though, haha.)

“My hair has a mind of its own!”

Human Aradia. Tried something different. Illustrative and monochrome. Learned to embrace flyaways and Aradia’s messy hair, as well as movement and how to paint a sincere smile.

SAI/Photoshop. A couple of nights. (Love dis girl, yo.)

New, cleaned up drawing. I’m sorry that Nageki’s hair is a little dark, but I didn’t know how to lighten it without losing contrast. Hope you like it anyway.

Late night insomnia doodle gone out of control. Trying to work on environments. Value practice. WV is the funniest and most adorable exile ever. <3 I have no idea how to paint a desert or a soda can lit from behind. Or rocks, for that matter.

A present that I meant to give to RDM a while ago, but finally sat down and finished today. I really liked this panel from her doujin Akatsuki Gakuen, and so I colored it.

I hope the lighting makes some sense and I hope she likes it.

Recently, I uploaded some of my art to NG, and someone had left a comment on my Vivian painting… As scathing as it was, the person had a point; I did a good job painting forms, but I failed in narrative, as well as capturing Vivian’s bright and happy personality.

So, I decided to try again. I think this sketch is better at capturing her character. I still need to work on neatness, though.

Inspired by a post about Homestuck being a lot scarier if all of the trolls had red blood.

I also want to learn how to paint blood right as well as make a bleeding troll look realistically bloody. The bottom one is just a hue shift to make the blood red.
